How John Summit unleashes the energy of the crowd

“Growing up, I listened to a lot of classic rock with my parents, but also Radiohead, Animal Collective. It wasn’t until I started going to live shows and concerts where I really gravitated to dance music because the crowds were always going crazy, and I’m addicted to that energy. My first electronic show was seeing Deadmau5 at Lollapalooza in the pouring rain. At that moment, I knew I had to be a full-time DJ and producer.”

“I think with my upbringing, going to all these concerts and going to raves every single weekend, I know exactly what audiences look for when it comes to making music and playing music. I know what I personally like myself, too. When it comes to making music, I like to make music for the crowd, for the people, but also things that inspire me as well.”

“The feeling of being in the zone when making music is the biggest high of all time, 100% natural high, which is why I chase it 24/7 and make music every single day. I mostly try to listen to music from the underground to get inspired, scrolling through the internet, YouTube, SoundCloud, everything. It’s always the new generation that inspires me.”
